Animal Assisted Therapy
The joy and comfort that animals bring can enhance and accelerate healing. This is why many hospitals have visiting programs for therapy dogs. Many therapists also find that a therapy dog can enhance the therapeutic process of their clients.
Like service dogs, therapy dogs go through a lot of training and testing before they can become registered therapy dogs. My dog, Honeybear, has been through this training and has passed the examination required by the organization Pet Partners.
Honeybear, pictured here, is available for clients who would like to have her in session with them.
